The original kitchen was 20+ years old, the design did not function well for today's cook. The owners needed more space to host dinners than their old kitchen was providing. The kitchen/dining area was increased by 4' in width by pushing the back of the house out. The new space was designed to accommodate the needs of the family and to give the kitchen a more update look with more functionality.
The finished kitchen not only functions better but is a brighter more contemporary space that invites everyone in to participate. With the larger island it is possible for guest to talk with the chef or help by maybe mixing the salad. The increase size of the kitchen allows for at least three persons to work comfortably at once to prepare meals. There are actually two larger serving area to help handle the buffet dining when guest are gathered. With a good understanding of the needs and wants of this family a functioning kitchen was designed and completed.
I am so fortunate to have found EDesigns to design my new kitchen.
The job was a total redesign, cabinets removed, with a four foot addition of the kitchen and eating area.
Elizabeth
is very capable and delights in her design and technique for making all
the decisions covering every detail required in a total
reconstruction. She devotes a lot of hands-on-time with the various
craftsmen to insure the specifications are being followed.
I highly recommend Elizabeth for any design decisions. I am very pleased with the finished product - my beautiful kitchen.
